Beach rentals has become one of Costa Rica´s new tourist attractions. There are many houses built for luxury but with prices that are quite affordable for tourists out to reant a beach house or condo.

Here are some tips when looking around for vacation and beach rental objects in Costa Rica.

The market is hot and this means prices will raise. Many online rentals has prices that are on the high side. Knowing the owners or having friends in Costa Rica make the deal on location can many times bring down prices a lot. Also repeat visit will most likely allow you to get a better price or more services included in the rent.

High Price Rental Owners
There are many houses and condos all over Costa Rica out for rent in the higher cost range. The owners to many of these houses are foreigners that built the house for themselves and use it part time only. So the owners may live in any part of the world.

Some of them handle the rentals themselves while others have confidents in Costa Rica or even real estate agents managing it all.

Rent with Credit Cards
Credit cards as a way to pay for these rentals is not common. Most ask for a large advance fee well ahead of your stay and the rest on arrival. Payment should be in cash or moneyorder/bank Check and has to be sent up to month in time to allow the post office to deliver it. My advice is to not do any transactions at all via mail. It has a nasty tendency to get lost or stuck when entering Costa Rica. Talk with your local bank about transfering money using them instead as the money will be insured.
